Kajian Biblika Rightly Dividing dan Penafsiran Dispensasional Berdasarkan Kajian Teks 2 Timotius 2:15

Abstract


Dispensational Theology is a way to understand God's relationship with humans in the provisions that have been set (dispensations) where God has stated it to be done in the course of history. The purpose of this writing is that Timothy is required to carefully teach the Word of God that he has received from Paul to distinguish between true teachings and false teachings that entered the Ephesian church at that time. Classical dispensationalism uses the basic meaning of rightly dividing from 2 Timothy 2:15 as a method of interpretation to divide the Bible according to dispensations or periods. The writing uses the method of literature and exegetical analysis to find the true meaning of the phrase rightly dividing to see if its meaning is to divide the periods in the Bible. Exegesis follows the flow of John D. Grassmick which includes five principles of interpretation which are areas that focus on contextual and textual. Each of the above points will explain the true meaning of rightly dividing in the text of 2 Timothy 2:15 and provide validity to the claims of some Dispensationalists regarding the Dispensational method of interpretation of dividing the Bible into periods or dispensations. From the exegesis of the text of 2 Timothy 2:15, it turns out that the word oikonomia or dispensation is not found. The results of the analysis with five principles of interpretation found that the meaning of rightly dividing is not in accordance with dividing the Bible into periods or dispensations but how to teach the Word of God correctly according to the teachings passed down by Paul to Timothy to ward off false teachings circulating in the Ephesian congregation at that time. The emphasis of one word oikonomia or pretext (proof verse) cannot describe the whole of a complex theological system. A theology should pay attention to the whole Bible and the history and development of human culture. A proper interpretation technique is needed and the existence of the Christian community throughout the centuries needs to be considered.

Abstrak

Teologi Dispensasional adalah sebuah cara untuk memahami relasi Allah dengan manusia di dalam ketentuan-ketentuan yang telah diatur (dispensasi) di mana Allah telah menyatakannya untuk dilakukan di dalam perjalanan sejarah. Tujuan penulisan ini bahwa Timotius dituntut untuk teliti mengajarkan Firman Allah yang telah diterimanya dari Paulus membedakan ajaran yang benar dan ajaran sesat yang masuk di jemaat Efesus pada saat itu. Dispensasionalisme klasik menggunakan dasar makna rightly dividing dari 2 Timotius 2:15 sebagai metode penafsiran untuk membagi-bagi Alkitab menurut dispensasi-dispensasi atau periode-periode. Penulisan menggunakan metode literatur dan analisis eksegesis untuk menemukan makna sebenarnya dari frasa rightly dividing untuk melihat apakah memang maknanya adalah membagi-bagi periode-periode dalam Alkitab. Eksegesis mengikuti alur dari John D. Grassmick yang meliputi lima prinsip penafsiran yang merupakan bidang-bidang yang berfokus pada kontekstual dan tekstual. Setiap poin-poin tersebut di atas akan menjelaskan makna sebenarnya dari rightly dividing dalam teks 2 Timotius 2:15 dan memberikan keabsahan pernyataan beberapa kaum Dispensasionalis mengenai metode penafsiran Dispensasional membagi-bagi Alkitab dalam periode-periode atau dispensasi-dispensasi. Dari eksegesis teks 2 Timotius 2:15 ternyata tidak ditemukan kata oikonomia atau dispensasi. Hasil analisis dengan lima prinsip penafsiran ditemukan bahwa makna rightly dividing tidak sesuai dengan membagi-bagi Alkitab dalam periode-periode atau dispensasi-dispensasi tetapi bagaimana mengajarkan Firman Tuhan dengan benar sesuai dengan pengajaran yang diturunkan oleh Paulus kepada Timotius untuk menangkal ajaran-ajaran sesat yang beredar di jemaat Efesus saat itu. Penekanan satu kata oikonomia ataupun preteks (ayat bukti) tidak dapat menjabarkan keseluruhan dari sebuah sistim teologi yang kompleks. Sebuah teologi hendaknya memperhatikan keseluruhan Alkitab dan sejarah serta perkembangan budaya manusia. Sebuah tehnik penafsiran yang tepat sangat diperlukan dan keberadaan komunitas Kristen segala abad perlu dipertimbangkan.
